Hello! My name is Claire, some people call me Kat.
I am a vegan intersectional feminist, fiber artist, and Tibetan Buddhist yogini. I like to listen to podcasts, ride my bicycle + hike + camp in beautiful places, and play the piano.
I hail from Chicago and Iowa City, and I have BAs in art historical linguistic feminist anthropology. I publish a semi-irregular feminist lit+art zine called STRAP ON: YOUR GUIDE TO FUCKING THE PATRIARCHY, and I’m always accepting submissions if you’ve got art or literature you’d like to share with the world via punk zine. Strap On exists in a pre-digital universe; if you’d like to get your hands on the latest issue, I’d be happy to send them via snail mail for no cost.
The ‘fiber art’ gallery on this blog is the spillover from my Etsy shop. I love to knit with locally harvested, dyed, and spun organic fibers (meaning the fiber-bearing animals are raised on land free of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers), and I make things to order for people interested in commissioning knitted gifts. If you’re interested in commissioning something, feel free to reach out to me!
